I'm not sure of anything anymore
And I'm not sure why no one is who they were
'Cause they've got time to kill
And they've got blood to spill together
But who are they to tell me right from wrong?
Hey, hey, hey, whatcha' runnin' from, man?
What's your big idea?
You're living your whole life asleep, man
What's your big idea?
Lord knows that I've wished for nothing else
And I won't ask for anything for myself
But they've got time to kill
And they've got blood to spill together
But I don't think they'll make it out alive
Hey, hey, hey, whatcha' runnin' from, man?
What's your big idea?
You're living your whole life asleep, man
What's your big idea?
Hey, hey, hey, whatcha' runnin' from?
Hey, hey, hey, whatcha runnin' from?
'Cause time waits for no one
It's the rush you chase but never seem to find
It's the knife that slips itself into your side
Can't forget my thoughts and all my memories
Of watching everyone fall right in front of me
Tell me that I'll change and prove to me I'm wrong
And we end up the same
Tell me that I'll change
'Cause I'm not sure at all
So why don't you just tell me, tell me
Hey hey hey whatcha' runnin' from?
Hey, hey, hey, whatcha' runnin' from?
'Cause time waits for no one, time waits for no one
It's the rush you chase but never seem to find
It's the knife that slips itself into your side
Time waits for no one

The verse "Can't even buy a coffee without exploiting someone" got me. It really hits hard. For the entire length of the album it felt like the end of the world.
But to be perfectly honest, it's just how life is these days. And it's fucked up. szczur

viscerally affected by covid, this album has a less optimistic but more accepting message than the previous. it reaches the heart of my experience (and others'?) in a cathartic and depressing acknowledgement. it's nice to know you feel the same niq
